How It Works!
Survey
Households sign up for a survey, by sending an e-mail to Philip Ditchfield. There is no cost for this survey and no obligation on your part to go ahead. These surveys are co-ordinated by TTM (Transition Town Marlow) and sent through to Freesource, who will arrange a convenient date for the site survey.
Offer
Once the site has been surveyed, Freesource sends out a specific quote (based on the type of installation: solar thermal, PV, etc). That offer will be at the standard price (without discounts). See Guideline Pricing. The pricing you receive will be prepared specifically for your house, hence it may vary slightly from the guideline pricing. If you'd like to arrange a survey straight away, please contact us.
Acceptance
if you are satisfied with the offer, you accept the offer formally and pay a 25% deposit direct to Freesource. You also agree a date for your installation.
Delivery
Upon delivery, you pay a further 25% to Freesource. Equipment is then installed and commissioned (generally within one day for thermal and a couple of days for PV). Once the system is up and running to your satisfaction, you pay the remaining 50% to Freesource.
Rebates (discounts)
on 1st October (6 months after the start of the Project) the first rebates are paid back to individual households. For example, if on 30 September 70 households have signed up (i.e. paid their deposits), each of those households would receive an 18% rebate. For example for a system costing £3,000, the household would receive a rebate of £540. Then, 6 months later, on 1st April 2011 supposing we have another 30 or more installs, the first70 group of households would receive a further 2% (taking the total discount to 20%).
If you have any questions about the rebate system, please get in touch.
