Transition Town Marlow's 100 Solar Project

Transition Town Marlow's 100 Solar Project

Transition Town Marlow’s 100 Solar Project is now officially launched! We are aiming to get 100 glistening solar panels on roofs in our town in 2010.

The first 8 installations have been completed and we have over 160 households registered. More surveys are taking place now, so if you would like a no obligation price quote, please contact: philipjditchfield@yahoo.co.uk

What the Solar Project is about

We are a group of parents and friends, living in Marlow, who are the founding members of Transition Town Marlow. We are concerned about our environment and climate change and, rather than just watching things unfold on TV, wanted to do something to help reduce our carbon footprints and help others do the same!

Going through the buying group we have set up in Marlow means you will be able to get solar panels for up to 20% less than the best realistic offer you would otherwise expect, if you went alone (please download the PDF for full details).

We, the organisers, do not benefit financially from this project; nor are any savings used to pay for setting up the buying group – therefore all the benefits are passed to anyone and everyone who joins the project.

The savings of the buying group, together with various feed-in tariffs, mean it will take a lot less time to recoup your investment, making solar energy a truly viable option in the UK.

We have carried out months of research, spoken to 10 different installation companies, our local Council, an architect and an energy provider and have secured a wonderful deal for the people of Marlow and surrounding towns. We are also extending this offer to our friends in Transition Town High Wycombe.
